Gallery 4: Other Projects
Gallery 4 depicts a variety of projects that I've undertaken over the years, other than paintings on canvas or board.

floor stencil in Kashub-inpsired pattern
Here, Jerome is decorating the corners of his studio floor using a stencil that reflects the prinicples and colours of traditional Kashubian embroidery. Jerome is a direct decendent of some of the earliest Polish settlers who immigrated to the Madawaska Valley in the 1870's.

poster signing
Jerome autographs a fund raising poster entitled Eganville & Area at a promotional signing event hosted by Serendipity on the River. He created the original painting, entitled Exploring the Bonnechere Valley last summer to be used as a "branding" icon to help attract visitors to Eganville area attractions. The painting is reproduced in the Ottawa valley Tourist Association's 2006 Travel Guide.

This mural, which runs above a wainscoting along a stairway wall and around a corner directly over the stairs, is 5' X 17'. It is entitled The Second Weekend of October and was commissioned for a cottage on Jack Lake in 2000.

The clouds painted on this kitchen wall (24' X 8') (left) covered a multitude of flaws in the mounting of the original, dark wood-simualated cupboards and the uneveness of the wall surface. Two corporate commissions, one of several for two branches of financial institution (e.g. centre) and the second for clothing retailer (right) featured cloud themes throughout the public areas.

The bathroom floor painting ( a "flooral" ?), of which the fish above are a detail, was commissioned for another cottage on Jack Lake where the designer wanted to retain the unstained wood in the bathroom as had been done throughout the cottage's other rooms, yet decorate it with a whimsical and colourful aquatic theme.

The pull-over sweaters shown above were a collaboration with my friend, April Cornell. I designed the patterns and April knitted the final products.
